Eastern Colorado Veterinary Services is pleased to announce the addition of two new associate veterinarians, Dr. Evie Rider and Dr. McCrae Rider, who are joining the practice in July 2026. To welcome the Riders to the community, Eastern Colorado Veterinary Services invites area residents, clients, and producers to a Meet and Greet on Wednesday, July 8, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the clinic (474 1st Ave, Limon, CO 80828). Stop by, meet the new veterinarians, and enjoy walking tacos and cookies while supplies last!
Dr. Evie Rider joins ECVS with a passion for both equine and food animal medicine. Originally from The Woodlands, Texas, she developed an early interest in agriculture through 4-H, her county fair, and work at a local horse barn. She earned her bachelor's degree in Animal Science with a pre-veterinary specialization from West Texas A&M University, where she competed on the equestrian team, worked as a mixed animal veterinary technician, and served as an officer in the university's Animal Science Club. She went on to earn her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree, graduating Cum Laude from Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine in May 2026. During veterinary school, she specialized in beef cattle production and completed advanced training on feedlots and cow-calf operations throughout Texas, the Midwest, and Canada. Outside the clinic, Dr. Evie enjoys baking, sewing, and training Oakley, the family's Australian Cattle Dog. She looks forward to becoming involved in the community and serving area ranchers and livestock producers.
Dr. McCrae Rider brings both professional experience and deep agricultural roots to Eastern Colorado Veterinary Services. A Burlington, Colorado native, McCrae grew up working on his family's ranch and developed his passion for veterinary medicine through firsthand experiences caring for livestock. He also operated his own swine and cow-calf enterprises and was active in FFA throughout high school. After studying Animal Science and competing in collegiate rodeo at West Texas A&M University, he earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine. Following graduation in 2024, he practiced at a small animal clinic in College Station, Texas, where he developed a strong interest in small animal surgery. When he is not caring for animals, Dr. McCrae enjoys hiking, leatherworking, and spending time with his wife, Evie, and dog Oakley. He is excited to return to eastern Colorado and build lasting relationships with clients while caring for their animals.
Eastern Colorado Veterinary Services is excited to welcome the Riders to our mixed animal veterinary practice and looks forward to the expertise, compassion, and commitment they will bring to clients throughout the region. Again, please join us at the Meet and Greet on July 8 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the clinic (474 1st Ave, Limon, CO 80828) to meet Dr. Evie Rider and Dr. McCrae Rider and enjoy refreshments!
